Measuring the effects of gerrymandering

The Supreme Court appeared split on whether Wisconsin Republicans gave themselves an unfair advantage when they drew political maps to last a decade. Among the two dozen most populous states, there were nearly three times as many with GOP-tilted House districts, according to an AP analysis using the efficiency gap.

Republicans had greater advantage in state House races

The AP analysis of last fall’s state House and Assembly elections found four times as many states with Republican advantages in converting votes into seats than Democratic ones.
